Suburban Propane Partners, L.P., a nationwide distributor of propane, renewable propane, renewable natural gas, fuel oil and related products and services, as well as a marketer of natural gas and electricity and investor in low carbon fuel alternatives, today commemorated the signing of New Mexico House Bill 41, establishing a clean transportation fuel standard program to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels through 2040. Suburban Propane was part of the New Mexico Clean Fuels Coalition, which led advocacy efforts supporting House Bill 41.
The bill sets goals of reducing the carbon intensity of transportation fuels used in the state by at least 20% below 2018 carbon intensity levels by 2030, and at least 30% below 2018 carbon intensity levels by 2040. Suburban Propane was invited by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s office to attend the bill signing ceremony.
